So… where do you actually start with paneer?
This is usually the point where things stall.
People understand what paneer is, they might even agree it sounds like something they’d use, but then it sits in the fridge while they try to decide what to cook. It starts to feel like something that needs a proper recipe, a bit of time, or a level of effort that doesn’t quite match a midweek evening.
It doesn’t.
The easiest way to start cooking with paneer is not to treat it like a “recipe ingredient”, but like something you can drop into meals you already make. Once you take that pressure away, it becomes much more obvious how often you can use it.
Start with what you already eat
You don’t need to learn something new to make paneer work.
If you already cook:
- wraps
- stir-fries
- salads
- quick lunches
- slightly improvised dinners
Paneer fits straight in.
Fry it until golden, then add it to whatever you’re making. That’s the baseline. From there, you can build things up if you want to, but you don’t have to.
This is also why it’s such a useful ingredient – it adapts to how you cook.

The simplest ways to use paneer (no recipe required)
If you’re not sure where to begin, these are the easiest entry points.
A quick wrap with crispy paneer, some yoghurt, and whatever’s in the fridge is often enough. A stir-fry works just as well – cook the paneer first, then add it back in at the end so it keeps its texture. Even something as simple as crumbled paneer on toast, with a bit of seasoning and something fresh, is a very solid place to start.
None of these need measuring, planning, or a recipe tab open on your phone.
If you do want recipes (we’ve got you)
Once you’ve got a feel for cooking paneer, recipes become more useful – not as instructions you have to follow perfectly, but as inspiration for what’s possible.
We’ve put together a small collection of recipes on our site that show how paneer can work across different meals and occasions, whether you want something quick or something a bit more considered.
They’re designed to feel like something you’d actually cook, not something you’d bookmark and forget about.

A quick note on flavour
Paneer is mild, which is exactly why it works so well. It absorbs flavour easily, so you can either build that yourself or start with something that already has a bit more going on.
Our Original Paneer is the most flexible place to begin, especially if you want to experiment. If you’d rather shortcut things slightly, Cumin, Chilli & Turmeric brings warmth and spice, while Garlic & Herb sits comfortably in meals you already recognise.
You don’t need to do everything from scratch to make it taste good.
